The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of heroes who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The traitor then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could help the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.

Fans can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
